What We Believe | The Mt. Zion Story | Our Mission | Connectional Church

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
"
-- Matthew 28:19-20

Purpose Statement

Mount Zion's purpose is to worship God, learn from His teachings, love one another, witness and serve the community.

Our vision is for us to be transformed so that our minds are renewed, so that we are able to know the will of God in our every endeavor.  We see a church so transformed that the Word of God is taught and lived out in our lives.

We envisioned a community of Christian disciples empower by the Holy Spirit to love, serve, and live as Jesus Christ taught.

Our Mission

"to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ" -- Ephesians 4:12-13

Through the living and active power of the Holy Spirit, we embrace the lost.  People who have not heard of the love of Christ or those who have heard but have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior.  We embrace them and share with them the Truth, which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We spread the Truth tempered by love, as the Scripture teaches.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit we work to transform the found.  People who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  Through prayer, worship, Bible Studies, prayer meetings, Church School, teaching sermons, small group studies, revivals and fellowship, we work to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.  We are constantly seeking in everything that we do, and in every way to mature, and reach unity in the faith to be in the likeness of Christ.

We see a church caring about others in need within and outside of our congregation.  We care by reaching out to others, the poor, the weak and the disenfranchised; using our resources in ways that our church and community are lifted up and encouraged.
